Dr. Schumacher performs traditional and laparoscopic bariatric surgery, as well as general surgery. His goal is to provide you with the highest quality of advanced surgical treatment, comfortably and conveniently, in both scheduled and emergency situations. Kettering Bariatrics was founded to bring the unique benefits of weight loss surgery to patients in need throughout the Miami Valley.

As a surgeon and caregiver, Dr. Schumacher is dedicated to providing patients with the most advanced and effective surgical care available, including laparoscopic procedures for other standard general surgical procedures. These include the treatment of reflux, Colon and Small bowel resection, Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Ventral Hernias, Inguinal Hernias, removal of adhesions, Adrenalectomy and Splenectomy. Dr. Schumacher currently specializes in laparoscopic surgical weight loss procedures such as laparoscopic Roux-en Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable band, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, laparoscopic biliopancreatic diversion, and laparoscopic revisonal bariatric surgery.
